Harry Reid can't believe I'm a Hispanic Republican - This woman is not happy about Mr Ried's Racist Comments

Well Harry, let me introduce myself. I am the daughter of Cuban exiles who have seen first hand the failures of liberal and socialist policies in their native country. My father in fact, was a political prisoner in Cuba for five years because the government deemed his speech against repression and dictatorship "hateful and dangerous." Sort of like what you democrats say about the tea parties, although you have not thrown their members in jail… yet.

Also Reid, in case you didn’t know, Latinos have a mind of their own. As much as I think you’re a bigoted, lazy thinker, you might have admitted what all democrats think of Hispanics who are on the right side of the aisle. You belittle us, think we need the nanny state to help us with our woes. Hispanics are actually a religious, pro-life, pro-business, and hard-working people. You know the stuff Americans are made of. I know many Latinos who work more than 12 hours a day, seven days a week, to earn their keep and give their children the life they couldn’t have in their native countries.

Wow Harry's foot is in his mouth now, Obama is cringing and wondering if Harry Reid is related to Joe Biden? Heard today that Obama wants to get rid of Joe "Gaffe" Biden and run with Hillary in 2012. My bet is Hillary tells Obama she will run on his ticket if she is the Presidential Candidate.

Hey Scotty, why would say really that she is a communist? Or not hispanic? Do you think this really smart Harry Reid saying stupid statement is wise? You would not know what a communist is if they carried a sign. Your fearless leader is the communist, or at least a socialist. Wake up.

Bio, thanks for your comments..............I think Harry has just lifted his skirts only to show his bare racist As$%^&*. That's how the libs really think of minorities..........that maybe since we look alike to them, we think alike.................Wake up all minorities, be free thinkers of what ever party you want to belong to. Don't let people like Harry herd us with their political pandering, like feeble minded masses voting in lock step. We don't need a nanny state to keep us in line or do our thinking for us. I don't want the government to be my mama...................

Socialism like public schools? public parks? public utilities? public libraries? Check yourself, you may be a socialist if you have used these public services.

I'm sorry how again is he a socialist? How is it that 10% of the population hold 50% of americas wealth?

Are you talking about spreading the wealth? Oh that is done all the time in the red states. The majority of the red states get more federal tax dollars than they pay. Arizona for example gets $1.31 for every dollar they pay in. Now thats socialism.

Thank you Scotty... remember when Bush gave that income tax rebate a few years back??? I bet these same staunch anti-socialists didn't hesitate to cash that filthy socialist check.

Oh wait, I forgot, that was Bush's decision, so that makes it the American thing to do. If Obama did it, he'd be blasted, again, as a socialist.

Did it ever occur to anyone why Republicans have no problem with Cubans coming to the United States, in such a fashion that would be called "illegal" if they came from Mexico?? Cubans tend to vote Republican.

many illegals that come are poor, uneducated, desperate or may be criminals running from the Mexican Police (lol).................my Spanish teacher in college was a Cuban lawyer that came over during the Bay of Pigs.......he worked as a janitor, while going to school and ended up with a PHD..........his wife had been a doctor.............and had to start over, but the educated that went against Castro left with nothing. I remember he told us that the govt took everything of any value, listed them in the newspapers as traitors. As they left, the Castro thugs at the airport even took their wedding rings...........branded as traitors in their own country, never to see their other family members again.........

"A black man voting for a Republican is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders". Harry Reid's observation was just a variation on that theme...and he's right.

By the way, when did rightists become so....politically correct?:).

I put quotation marks around it because it's not my version. That quote is attributed to J.C. Watts' father.

              Hey Bio-Fuel,

Oh Boy, these folks just don't know when to shut-up do they... Freaking Harry Reid is a joke!

              This part was very good:

I want to see for myself, which democrats and media types would have the audacity to defend Reid’s racist statement.

Reid, you’re such a disgusting, low-life bigot. First you talk about Americans who visit the Capitol as permeating a dreadful odor, you say our president does not talk in a “negro dialect” and now you belittle republican Hispanics as idiots. What a creep.

Yeah, I'm not going to hold my breath for the MSM to get on the ball - after all most seem to be in the tank for the Dems.

Hahaha - if one does not laugh at this @!$%#... One would scream!

Now to top it off Republicans are going after babies, am I going too fast? These so called anchor babies and now terror babies.

Since you appear to be a fan of Reid Racist Hits, what was your view on #1 on the charts? Referring to the President as “light-skinned" and having "...no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

Partisanship shouldn't give one a blanket waiver to ignorance and prejudice.

Then again, Reid is just what I'd expect from a Democrat or Progressive, except for the views he shares with the far right wing: Like when he said that Democratic Party values mirror Mormon values... except for Prop 8 one assumes, but since Democratic Progressive California passed that, who knows. He supported DOMA and has said on many occasions "I believe marriage should be between a man and a woman." He believes Roe v. Wade should be overturned and favors the death penalty, so it cracks me up to see people support this bigoted homophobe just because he's their boy from their party.

ScottyL and Sebbydad you sound like you have some real racial bias so let me explain - My Wife was born and raised in New Mexico (New Mexico is part of the US) proud descendant of Alonso de Rivera who setteled in Tres Piedras (Three Rocks) New Mexico in 1564. That is the problem with Harry's stupid comment, he believes like most ignorant democrats, progressives and liberals that every American Hispanic is an illegal immigrant and that just is not the case. In fact most Hispanics in this country homesteaded much of the southwest or migrated and followed the process to become naturalized citizens. The Hispanics in my family and the ones I call my friends are family orientated, abhor the killing of the unborn, believe Jesus Christ is our saviour and know that dedication and hard work are the keys to improving our social status.

So the next time you chico's blanco want to know what Hispanics think why don't you try asking first. American Hispanics love what made America great and they will protect it for their children. Thanks for your comments :-).

I agree with Reid. Why would be a member of a party that is very open about the idea of treating any non-white, non-christian, non-heterosexual, individual as a second class citizen with only the rights they deem fit to provide and the poor with only the rights they can pay for? Depsite this individual's protestations that she has a mind of her own the regurgitation of the GOP talking point of equating of liberal with socialist would present a significant argument to the contrary.

I agree with Reid too. After recent events, I don't know why an Hispanic would relate to the GOBP either.

Harry Reid is like the "energized bunny"! And, the reason why there should be term limitation. Being in healthcare, I am fully aware of the "stuff" that rolls trippingly from the tongue without any thought. It is a fact. You got to know when to "fold'em".

We have term limits already. It's called vote for someone else at the next election.

And true. I happen to like my Congressman (Henry Waxman) and both of my Senators (Feinstein (though she's not as liberal as I would like) and Boxer), so I resent the idea that someone may try to take away my right to vote for them again. Again, we have term limits already. If you want to limit a political term, then support and vote for someone else.

California may end up limiting Boxer's term this year. A couple of polls today puts it t dead even, or Fiorina ahead.

I hope so. Her dressdown of the General was one of the most sickening displays of pretentiousness I've ever seen.

I live in Denver, have a bunch of Hispanic friends, including one from Cuba that just got his citizenship.

Almost all are Republicans or independents. My niece dates a great guy 2nd gen American whose parents came from Mexico. I met him and some of his friends at a BBQ, and every one of them were registered Republicans, and did not like Obama. It actually suprised me. Of course, I found out that several of them had been military, and that explained it a bit for me.

Harry Reid has really stuck his foot in his mouth on this. There are literally millions of conservative and libertarian leaning Hispanics, and the Tea Party rallies out here have had many of them on stage, and in the crowd as well.

When did independents become defacto republicans and what does being in the military have to do with hating Obama? It was not Obama that made up a war to kill more of our troops that any terrorist has done. It is the GOP that says homosexuals are not good enough to serve their country and are not quite citizens enough to have equal rights. I honestly cannot fathom why ANYONE would associate themselves with the current version of the GOP. They are not fiscally responsible, they do not behave in a fashion that would reflect the 'family values' they preach, they seek to limit freedom and expand government into every aspect of American life possible.

If that were the case there aren't enough in the GOP to stop them from reversing these things. It took the courts to strike down DOMA because the Democrats wouldn't touch the issue, and its Democrats that refuse to advance lifting DADT.

Independent's aren't defacto Republicans but Republicans and Democrats aren't defacto different from each other, and I can't see why anyone would refer to them selves as either democrat or republican, its like hanging a kick me sign on their back... which is just what the people they vote for do to them.

making the courts handle Doma keeps it from becoming a political issue and makes it a legal one. DOMA and DADT are unconstitutional, I am pissed all to hell that the White House is not demanding DADT be repealed and that the CIC has not issued an order halting any further discharges until the matter is settled.

The Dems are avoiding both issues to try and save votes, gays are easier to neglect than other minorities, especially when the voters of Democratic bastions like California are voting to strip away their constitutional rights. Its not worry about legality or what's right, its political gutlessness.

The GOP is pressing both issues to save votes. Thsi is why we need the court to step in and define the issue Constitutionally. Once declared Unconstitutional the issue is dead.

And Colorado has a huge Hispanic population, and is a battleground state. The hispanics here are almost evenly split between Dems, Repubs, and indies.

The whole point of Harry Reid's comments is that Republicans as part of their election strategy are villifying latinos same with blacks, gays, Muslims and basically every one who isn't a rich white male. It seems strange to many people to vote for someone who profits from making people think you are the bad guy.

Nothing wrong with what harry Reid said said. Just another created issue from the white fright right conservative propaganda mill.

I don't believe that a Hispanic can be a Republican in this say and age any more than a gay conservative can in conscience be a tea party member.

Get it right Cuba doesn't count. The US ran a capitalist dream, (organised crime), till it got thrown out. If the ignorant American business men want to bring back the corruption of pre-Castro Cuba, let it it happen but you will find nothing more than another bloody revolution where capitalists murder people to win. Cheating bastards. If you want Cuba to become a right wing casino again, go for it, idiot.
